This cultivar from Tony Avent of Plant Delights Nursery in North Carolina is the result of a series of crosses. First, H. 'Swoosh' × the species, H. longissima. The resulting seedling was then crossed with H. 'Red Neck Heaven' and the resulting seeding was finally crossed with H. 'Elvis Lives'. Whew! What a family history.

H. 'Deliverance' was registered by Tony in 2005. It grows into a medium size hosta about 12 inches in height with twisted foliage that is heavily rippled. It bears lavender flowers in July.
