Paul Aden of New York registered this hybrid of H. 'Gold Cup' × H. 'Golden Waffles' in 1978. The plant is a medium size hosta about 14 inches high with a spread of 31 inches. Its bright gold leaves are cupped and have thick substance. Near white flowers bloom from late June into July.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...has never been common, even back in the 1980s when it was more well-known."

The Hosta Journal, (2008 Vol. 39 No 3), indicated that Clarence "Beets" Lantis of Delaware was a one-time Seed Exchange Director in The American Hosta Society and this cultivar was named for his wife, Ledi.
