This sport of H. 'Christmas Gold' was registered by
Mildred Seaver of Massachusetts in 1989. It is a medium size hosta about 18 inch high
by 40 inches wide with slightly cupped, moderately
corrugated foliage with thick substance. The medium lavender
flowers bloom in late June. According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...combines nicely with
'Christmas Gold' and 'Christmas Tree' in the garden."

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by
				Diana
Grenfell (2009) states in its Hosta Hybrids for Connoisseurs chapter: "Very
slow to establish and increase...The crumpled and puckered mature leaves almost
reach a state of distortion, a feature much prized by flower arrangers."

										| "I guess
I can't resist hostas that are named for
people I know or have known, but this
hosta, named for a good friend of
Mildred's, is a beautiful plant that
will catch your eye wherever it is
placed in your garden. Like some others
that I have chosen, it has a heavily
										textured leaf with a predominately
										yellow'green center (with dark green
										veins prominently marked), and an
irregular green margin. The leaf with
										its thick substance and heavy
										corrugation is another plant that
										resists its slug attackers." |

										| "An
										appealing, medium hosta remarkable for
										its heavy substance and puckered
foliage. The plant is compact with
rounded leaves that are chartreuse in
the center and darker green on the edge.
It grows vigorously and provides a
bright spot of color in the landscape.

Hatfield Gardens sold it last year
										for $200.00" | |
