						 This is a
				tissue culture sport of
				H. montana 'Choko Nishiki' that was registered by
Mark Zilis of Illinois in 1999. It forms a large size (22 inches high) mound of gold leaves
that turn green by July. The leaves have a long tip, are
moderately rippled and have good substance. In July, it forms
very pale lavender flowers. Mikiko Lockwood in an article on The Hosta Library titled,

A Little About Japanese Hosta Terms defines the term nishiki as brocade (rich-colored woven fabric) i.e.
			something colorful and beautiful.
