						 A
hybrid of H. 'Dorothy Benedict' × H. montana,
				this cultivar was originated by
Dr. Ralph (Herb) Benedict of Michigan and registered on his behalf by

Kevin Walek (Hosta Registrar) in 2009. It
forms an upright, vase shaped, large size mound about 20 inches high and 50
inches wide. The dark green leaves are heavily streaked and mottled
with yellow and creamy white specks. Its leaves are
moderately corrugated, ovate and slightly wavy with thick substance. It bears lavender flowers in July.

						 According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "Over the last twenty-five years
or so, very few hostas have impressed me as much as the
Benedicts' specimen of 'Outrageous'...The variegation pattern
varied considerably from leaf to leaf, but I think that only
added to its character. I'm not sure if I'll ever see another
mature clump of 'Outrageous', but the memory of the Benedicts'
plant will remain with me for many years to come."
