Collected in Japan by Bob Solberg  of Green Hill Farm in North Carolina and introduced in 2021, this is a sport of the species, H. rectifolia. It is a miniature size hosta with puckered  and rounded dark green leaves that are heavily corrugated and dimpled. The flowers emerge on sturdy scapes and are violet colored with darker stripes. They bloom from August into September.
