This cultivar has been around for
a very long time and was registered by
Frances Williams of
Massachusetts in 1986. It was the result of a cross of
Hosta
sieboldii x H. plantaginea that was done in 1948.
'Slim Polly' grows into a small size hosta about 6 inches high
with a spread of around 15 inches wide with
elliptic shaped leaves that are smooth textured and have thin
substance. The medium purple flowers bloom in late August. According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...sibling to 'Lavender Lady', 'Purple Passion', and 'Snow
				Flakes'...mainly of historical
				interest to hosta collectors."
