A large majority of the new hosta cultivars are developed in the United States with a much smaller number originating from other countries. Whenever it was available, we have entered the home state of the originator and/or registrant of hosta cultivars into our database. Of course, this does not include ALL hostas from a particular state but it is a good representation. States from which we have found new cultivars are highlighted in yellow.
