An article by Rick Goodenough in
			The
Hosta Journal (2012 Vol. 43 No. 1) states that, “A
relatively recent release, ‘Leaping Lipizzan’ is a strong breeder that turns out
a high percentage of quality, streaked seedlings…Seven of those terrific
seedlings include ‘Breeder’s Cup’, ‘Scalloped Potatoes’, ‘Dover Downs’, ‘Suffolk
Downs’, ‘Gran Premio’, ‘The Stone Horse’ and ‘Belmont Stakes’... ...H.
‘Belmont Stakes’ is just plain pretty with its wonderfully wide, neat and tidy
cream-white edges…makes a very tidy border specimen.”
