This cultivar is a sport of H. 'Midwest Gold' which was originated by
Alex Summers of Delaware and registered by
			Peter Ruh of Ohio in
2002. The plant has gold colored
foliage with a green marginal variegation. It grows into a
medium size hosta about 19
inches high with a spread of 34 inches. The pale lavender flowers
bloom from mid-June into July followed by viable seeds.
The
						registration materials state: "...bright color
center."
						According to

The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...has a wider green border than 'Buggy Wheels', another
green-edged sport of 'Midwest Gold'. The gold center can develop
				spring desiccation burn."
			  An article by Alex
Summers in
			The
Hosta Journal (1997 Vol. 28 No. 2) states that,
"...'Green Eclipse' and 'Green Rim Nugget' are the same plant. The name was
changed to 'Green Eclipse' when the "Code" frowned on names with more than
two
words a number of years ago."
