This fast growing cultivar of unidentified parentage originated in
				Japan and was registered by

Kevin Walek (Hosta Registrar) in 2009
						and
						re-registered
with new data in 2018. It becomes a medium size about 13 inches high by 28
inches wide with green foliage that has a white marginal
				variegation and some gray-green streaks.
The leaves are slightly rippled, elliptic, smooth
textured and have a light glaucous bloom on the bottom. Medium purple, funnel shaped flowers bloom
on scapes 16 to 20 inches tall in
August followed by viable seeds in green pods.

An article about H. 'Herifu' by Warren I. Pollock in
			The
Hosta Journal (1985 Vol. 16) states that, "The
Japanese name could mean "spotted border." The name probably refers to this small hosta's
characteristic of not always having all of the leaves with a thin whitish
edging, and of frequently having the border becoming less discernable as the
growing season advances."
