This cultivar is part of the "Holly
				Series" of hostas from
Gladys Holly  and Eunice V. Fisher,
both of Wisconsin. It was registered on
				their behalf by
Peter Ruh of Ohio in 1997 as a sport of H. 'Frances
				Williams'.
The large size plant (20 inches high by 50 inches wide)
				has blue-green
foliage with a gold marginal variegation. Its
leaves are moderately corrugated and have thick substance. Near
white flowers in dense clusters bloom from mid-June into July.
						 According to

The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...does not seem to develop spring desiccation burn. More
testing in a wider variety of sites is necessary to see if this
				holds true."

An article titled Too Many Lookalikes by
Bob Keller in
			The
Hosta Journal (2010 Vol. 41 No. 2) states that, "There
are many registered 'Frances Williams' lookalikes including H. 'Aurora Borealis', H. 'Squash Edge', 'Holly's Green and Gold', 'Golden Circles' and
'Olive Bailey Langdon', as well as some unregistered ones."
